We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Salt Lake City. As a key member of our Public Utilities department, you will be responsible for performing journey-level skills in one or more craft or building trades, including painting, carpentry, plumbing, and landscaping.
Key Responsibilities- Perform general maintenance on city facilities and grounds, including landscaping, grounds maintenance, and skilled carpentry work.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and job orders to perform assigned tasks.
- Operate equipment and hand power tools to complete projects, including preparation and clean-up responsibilities.
- Supervise crews of permanent and seasonal employees, making work assignments and ensuring project completion.
- Train and motivate employees on crews.
- Three years of ground maintenance or landscaping experience, including one year of lead worker or crew supervisory experience.
- Working knowledge of grounds maintenance and landscaping methods and practices.
- Knowledge of carpentry trade methods, tools, and materials.
- Valid Utah driver's license or driving privilege card.
This position requires moderately heavy physical activity for extended periods, with intermittent exposure to stress as a result of human behavior.
BenefitsThis position includes a robust benefits package, including a 5% salary boost for fiscal year 2024 and an additional 4% increase in fiscal year 2025.
