Job Summary

YesCare is seeking a highly skilled Addiction Medicine Specialist to join our team at the Louisville Metropolitan Department of Corrections in Kentucky. As a key member of our medical team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive healthcare services to our patients, including managing Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners, and overseeing the delivery of evidence-based care.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat patients with substance abuse history and addiction
• Evaluate patients, performing examinations to determine medical problems, and order specific tests to detect abnormalities
• Administer or prescribe treatments and drugs, and refer patients to other specialists when indicated
• Provide typical community standard care based on evidenced-based medicine for clinical services required, including sick call, chronic care, History and Physicals, and emergency care needs
• Adhere to approved formulary for therapeutic regimens and document pertinent observations and logical conclusions to validate need for non-formulary medication

Requirements

• Licensed physician in the state of employment
• Current DEA registration
• Board certified or eligible, or qualified by state laws/regulations to practice medicine
• Board Certified in Addiction Medicine
• Ability to perform BLS and occasional running when responding to emergencies
