About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Transportation Coordination Specialist to join our team at NORTHERN AREA MULTI SERVICE CENTER. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the efficient operation of our para-transit transportation program. Your primary responsibilities will include dispatching drivers, optimizing routes, and coordinating with our driving staff to deliver exceptional service to our clients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Dispatching drivers for transportation pick-ups and returns
- Ensuring schedules are complete and entered into the computer daily
- Verifying drivers' daily ACCESS information
- Handling returns in an orderly fashion
- Submitting manifests in an accurate manner
- Reassigning trips as needed
- Operating a two-way radio
- Reporting accidents and incidents according to agency policies and procedures
- Performing tasks as directed by the Dispatch Supervisor
Requirements and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in dispatcher, scheduler, and transportation-related roles. Strong computer skills and knowledge of the roadways and landmarks in Northern Allegheny county are required. Previous dispatcher and transportation experience is highly desired.
