Job Title: Youth Care Specialist - Part Time

Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Care Specialist to join our team. As a Youth Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing quality care and support to youth ages 10-17 in a safe and secure environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide a supportive environment for youth, promoting their emotional and psychological well-being.
  • Ensure the daily security and upkeep of the facility, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Participate in the implementation and monitoring of client case plans, working collaboratively with the team to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in in-service training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Assist with supervision of residents during activities, promoting a positive and engaging experience.
  • Effectively manage behavior and supervision of residents during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Assign and supervise chores, promoting a sense of responsibility and teamwork.
  • Prepare meals as needed, providing nutritious and delicious options for our residents.
  • Screen clients, conduct initial intakes, and administer client satisfaction surveys, gathering valuable feedback to inform our services.
  • Complete required initial paperwork for clients, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Oversee shelter clients self-administering medication, ensuring their health and well-being.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to our mission.
Requirements:
  • Ability and flexibility to work extended hours and be flexible with scheduling.
  • Valid state driver's license and proof of auto insurance.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience working with youth/troubled youth in an organized/structured setting preferred.
  • Dependability, discretion, and good judgement are essential.
  • Ability to establish effective relationships with clients, co-workers, and the general public.
  • Must demonstrate sensitivity to our service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs.
  • Team player with co-workers and administrators.
