Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Aid Advisor to join our team at the School of Visual Arts. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional support to students and parents in regards to financial aid, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Aid Counseling: Provide expert guidance to students and parents on eligibility requirements for federal, state, and institutional aid, including loan entrance and exit counseling, federal Pell grant and SEOG grant reconciliation, and work study reconciliation.
  • Application Processing: Review and process financial aid applications, perform needs analysis, and prepare financial aid plans for undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial aid policies, procedures, and regulations, including Title IV programs and regulations.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Interact with various college offices and outside entities to resolve conflicts, expedite processing, and access information.
  • Special Projects: Assist the director and associate director on special projects, and represent the office during promotional events.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience: 3-4 years of financial aid experience strongly preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, knowledge of Title IV programs and regulations, and familiarity with Datatel software.
