LVN - Dermatology Float Pool Nurse

We are seeking a skilled LVN to join our Dermatology Float Pool team at Sharp HealthCare. As a LVN, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and staff in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist patients, staff, and physicians as needed to maintain a high level of efficiency and customer service while providing quality care to a designated patient population.
- Float to various Sharp Rees-Stealy clinics as needed, including Downtown, Sorrento Mesa, Rancho Bernando, Santee, Otay, Scripps Ranch, and Del Mar.
- Administer medications safely and accurately per guidelines and written order, ensuring verification by a licensed person and documentation of all medications administered.
- Prepare patients for examination or procedure, obtain complete and accurate consent for procedures/surgery, and prepare and label biopsies in a thorough and accurate manner.
- Accurately document patient care per protocol, partner with physicians to continuously learn and expand clinical knowledge base, and listen to patients, collect pertinent information, recognize the urgency of the patient's problem, and route to physicians.
- Provide specific educational material and individual teaching in partnership with physicians, use universal precautions, and demonstrate knowledge of infection control policies and procedures.
- Assist with Medical Assistant medication verification, troubleshoot and resolve problem calls, and participate in clinical projects as directed by the physician or manager.
- California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - CA Board of Vocational Nursing & Psychiatric Technicians - REQUIRED
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association - REQUIRED
- 1 Year LVN experience in related clinical area - PREFERRED
- Ambulatory care experience - PREFERRED
- ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - American Heart Association - PREFERRED
- IV Certification (NPTA Sterile Product Certification) - Various-Employee provides certificate - PREFERRED
This is a full-time position that requires working variable shifts, including weekends, and traveling to other sites as business needs arise.
