Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nutrition Program Specialist to join our team at Cornell Cooperative Extension. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality nutrition education programs to individuals and groups, utilizing existing program materials and resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement existing SNAP educational programming and program activities in support of other nutrition programming efforts.
  • Provide nutrition educational programming, partner and community outreach through workshops, presentations, demonstrations, and lessons.
  • Deliver high-quality programming to individuals and groups utilizing existing SNAP program materials and resources.
  • Assist in providing existing information to bring awareness to the public in the form of impact statements, articles for progress/annual reports, and news releases, etc.
  • Represent CCE before the public, participants, community leaders, government officials, Cornell, or other land grant universities in a professional manner as part of program delivery.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Community and Behavioral Health, Health Education and/or Public Health, or Nursing.
  • Associates degree plus 2 years transferrable program/functional experience may substitute.
  • Relevant experience in the field of nutrition education.
  • Ability to clearly communicate (speak, read, and write proficiently) in English.
  • Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
  • Ability to meet acceptable background check standards.
  • Ability and willingness to work with diverse audiences and maintain cultural sensitivity.
  • Proficiency with windows-based software including use of the internet and Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Excel.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position. The successful candidate will be required to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
