Position Summary


Our dynamic Manager-In-Training (MIT) program presents an opportunity for you to learn and grow within a well-established company boasting over 45 years of experience.

As our newest associate, you will participate in a tailored interactive program that includes hands-on and computer-based training, lasting approximately twelve (20) weeks.

The program encompasses various aspects of managing your own account, including:

General Training & Comprehension

  • Acquire and execute the responsibilities of dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher roles, enabling you to operate and instruct others on various industrial kitchen equipment.
Leadership Development

  • Supervise small teams of line staff in food preparation, serving, and cleanup activities across different shifts as necessary.
Policies & Procedures

  • Learn to provide leadership, support, and guidance to ensure compliance with food quality standards, inventory levels, food safety guidelines, and customer service expectations,
including


adhering to facility menus and current applicable federal, state, and local standards, aligned with our established policies and procedures to guarantee quality dining services at all times.

Reporting

  • Train in maintaining records of income and expenditures, food, supplies, personnel, and equipment in a report format for submission to HCSG and Facility management.
Training

  • Being responsible for all training, quality control, and inservicing staff to meet HCSG standards is a crucial aspect of the Manager's role, which includes conducting kitchen tours multiple times daily to assess work quality using QCIs for documentation purposes. You must also be able to perform the essential job functions of dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher to assist during staff shortages.
Leadership

  • Learn to effectively manage responsibilities, including payroll submission, staffing patterns, coaching, discipline, purchasing, inventory maintenance, and budgeting.
Communication -Ensure effective communication of directives from client managers, building occupants, and administrators to HCSG staff.
Safety -Utilize protective gear in all relevant functions. Responsible for the safe and proper mixing and use of cleaning solutions while adhering to all safety precautions. Report equipment/cleaning product needs and malfunctions to supervisors promptly. Ensure established standards, safety, and quality guidelines are consistently met.

Follow infection control and universal precautions policies and procedures to maintain a sanitary environment at all times.

Adhere to proper reporting, isolation, and handwashing protocols.
Punctuality -Maintain consistent attendance and punctual arrival. Complete assigned cleaning areas according to schedule. Respond to the paging system promptly and appropriately.
Customer Experience -Represent HCSG positively by following instructions and maintaining courteous and cooperative interactions with supervisors, co-workers, and client staff.
Resident Experience -Engage in positive, pleasant, and tactful interactions with residents, staff, and facility guests.

Qualifications

Exhibit a positive attitude with the ability to follow oral and written instructions, and perform routine, repetitive tasks daily.

Upon completing all necessary training, utilize leadership skills to fulfill all responsibilities independently and safely.

An associate's degree or higher in food service management or hospitality, with coursework in food service or restaurant management from an accredited institution, is preferred.

Specialized training in foodservice management and nutrition is required.


Proof of or successful completion of an approved Conference of Food Protection (CFP) Food Protection Manager (FPM) course within the first 14 days of employment is mandatory.

Participation in the Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) course, or certification as required by State & County law, is expected.

Successful achievement of the eLuminate Food Service Manager (FSM) and Long-Term Care Food Service (LTC-FSM) certifications within the first 60 days of employment is required.

Two years of experience in quantity food production/service, dining/nutrition, and personnel supervision is desired.
Basic computer skills are necessary to maintain records and complete reports as required, including web-based reporting.
Completion of an approved sanitation and safety course may be required.
Must be able to report to work as scheduled and on time.
Compliance with COVID-19 Vaccination Policies, as mandated by State, Local, and/or Customers, is essential.

Ability to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, and stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods is necessary.

Must be capable of performing routine, repetitive tasks continuously.
Must be able to work around food and cleaning products.
Must reside within the service area.
