We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic Family Support Specialist to become a part of our organization. In this role, you will be instrumental in offering guidance and support to families facing challenges.

Your primary focus will be to assist families in overcoming obstacles and linking them with essential resources to enhance their quality of life.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver compassionate support and advocacy for families in need
  • Perform evaluations to determine family needs and create tailored action plans
  • Facilitate connections to community services such as housing, healthcare, and educational opportunities
  • Partner with other professionals, including social workers, healthcare providers, and educators, to ensure families receive holistic support
  • Keep precise and current records of all family interactions
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions to remain informed on best practices and policies in family support

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related discipline
  • Experience in assisting families in crisis or requiring support
  • Familiarity with community resources and services available to families
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • A compassionate and nonjudgmental approach to family engagement

Education and Experience Requirements:
Minimum - must possess or obtain within 18 months of hire, a credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling, or a related field
Baccalaureate Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field with relevant coursework in social services, counseling, psychology, child development
Two (2) years of experience in family/social services or early childhood settings related to case management
Bilingual - proficiency in both English and Spanish (REQUIRED)
Specialized training in social services, health, or disabilities case management is preferred
Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record – proof of auto insurance within agency limits, or access to transportation
Immediate/continued enrollment in the Criminal History Registry-Child Care Division
Current Health Appraisal, updated every two (2) years
Certification in First Aid and Adult/Child/Infant CPR within 90 days of hire
