Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as the Toombs County Extension Educator. This role will be responsible for delivering the 4-H program within the assigned county, working cooperatively with all Extension faculty and staff, and managing both 4-H education delivery and Extension program administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver in-school 4-H programming to enrolled 4-H members, promoting 4-H events and delivering prepared Georgia Professional Standards-based curriculum.
  • Conduct in-school club meetings, reviewing program evaluations and feedback to modify/revise future programs and delivery techniques.
  • Develop efficient and effective procedures for managing the youth, including sign-up procedures, handling paperwork, parent relations, and on-site supervision and counsel.
  • Identify, recruit, and train involved and recognized 4-H volunteers in planning, teaching, and evaluating Cooperative Extension 4-H programs.
  • Make reports to appropriate clientele, staff members, Board of Education, Board of Commissioners, and public officials through electronic mass media, personal contracts, and/or group meetings.
Requirements
  • Baccalaureate degree in the field.
  • Good communication skills- oral and written.
  • Knowledge of Cooperative Extension 4-H program activities.
Working Conditions

This role requires some degree of physical activity, including lifting, to conduct programs. Some standing and/or sitting for various lengths of time is also required. Exposure to various seasonal weather conditions for outside activities is expected. Driving to perform job-related duties is a responsibility of this position.
