Extension Educator

This is a full-time position responsible for establishing a solid foundation for the delivery of SNAP-Ed programming and providing nutrition education programming to limited resource clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, organize, and conduct nutrition and food safety classes for limited resource adult clients.
- Prepare for and conduct food demonstrations for group classes.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with county, district, and state staff, local government employees, and clientele.
- Lead groups effectively, including the ability to speak clearly and coordinate educational programs to meet community needs.
- Conduct food preparation activities, including chopping, mixing, slicing, dicing, and measuring ingredients, while ensuring food safety in the preparation and presentation of lessons.
- Baccalaureate degree in the field.
- Strong communication skills and experience interacting with a wide range of people.
- Ability to lead groups effectively and coordinate educational programs to meet community needs.
- Physical demands include standing for long periods, lifting up to 25 pounds, speaking effectively to audiences without amplification, and using kitchen tools.
This position is based in Lowndes County and may require occasional night and/or weekend work.
