Special Education Case Manager

One City Schools, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Case Manager to join our team. As a Special Education Case Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our students with special needs.
Job SummaryThe Special Education Case Manager is responsible for overseeing the Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students receiving special education services. This includes ensuring full compliance with state and federal regulations, providing educational service minutes for scholars on their case load, and collaborating with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to support student success.
Key Responsibilities- Assess students' skills to determine their needs and develop instructional plans
- Adapt lessons and projects to meet the needs of students
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student
- Plan, organize, and assign activities that are specific to each student's abilities
- Teach, guide, and mentor students as a class, in small groups, and one-on-one
- Implement IEPs, assess students' performance, and track their progress
- Update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect students' progress and goals
- Discuss students' progress with parents, teachers, counselors, administrators, and outside professionals as necessary and appropriate
- Supervise and mentor teacher assistants who work with students with disabilities
- Prepare and help students transition from grade to grade and if they relocate or leave to attend another school
- Monitor and supervise effective classroom and school-wide structures that promote active, student-driven learning and positive student behavior and safety
- Maintain an orderly, academically-focused classroom environment and effective management of instructional materials and records
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Psychology, or related field; Master's degree preferred
- Valid Wisconsin Special Education teaching or administrative license
- Thorough knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and other relevant federal and state laws
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain detailed records
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
