We are seeking a highly skilled Apparel Design Specialist II, Train to join our team at Under Armour. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating innovative and cutting-edge apparel designs that meet the needs of our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Design and manage multiple product platforms that meet product and merchandising briefs, price points, and margin targets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional design partners to develop and execute clear and detailed sketches, technical packages, and bill of materials.
- Work within an integrated team of design, development, and product line management to act as a key point of contact at pod meetings, lab dip approvals, and fittings.
- Make key decisions related to product and procedures, and collaborate on the creation and presentation of category content.
- Present work to leadership at key milestone meetings, including style design review and go-to-market, and present regularly to cross-functional partners at design check points.
- Oversee design and color updates, and influence category policies and procedures related to design.
- Mentor and coach junior-level teammates.
- Bachelor's degree with typically 5 years of relevant experience or Master's degree with typically 3 years of relevant experience or typically 9 years of relevant work experience without degree.
- 5+ years of experience in the industry, preferably with a background in apparel, graphic, or industrial design.
- Passion for designing compelling and cutting-edge products, with the ability to understand construction and materials, and preferably versed in manufacturing techniques.
- Ability to express concepts and ideas through sketching, and presentation skills with the ability to work with a group.
- Must be detail-oriented, able to prioritize tasks, and successfully meet multiple deadlines.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible with changing priorities. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
