Maine Workforce Development Manager

Families Forward, a member of The Fedcap Group, is seeking an experienced leader to join its Leadership Team as a Performance Director. This dynamic role will be based primarily at our South Portland, Maine Participant Success Center location.

Key Highlights- The selected candidate can expect a competitive annual salary of $72,000 or higher, based on individual strengths and scope of responsibility.
- This role will be mainly located at our South Portland, Maine site.
- A bachelor's degree or higher education plus experience in supervisory or program management roles within the nonprofit sector, particularly in workforce development, is required.

The Performance Director, also referred to as Regional Director, plays a crucial role in setting the overall strategy for achieving work participation and contractual performance-based metrics in designated regions. This individual drives a collaborative team of Performance Managers and ensures the team's day-to-day operations meet quality standards and contractual deliverables in career case management services.
The selected candidate will report directly to the Assistant VP of Programs and Services (AVP) and act as backup when needed.
Essential Functions- Embody agency values and uphold high standards.
- Deliver exceptional performance aligned with key performance indicators and targets.
- Maintain regional teams' adherence to statewide service delivery standards, professionalism, and brand consistency.
- Promote staff, participant, and family well-being while upholding health and safety standards.
- Analyze internal and external data to devise regional plans for work participation and other contractual performance metrics.
- Communicate clear expectations and plans to regional teams through frequent speech and written updates.
- Analyze regional performance in FedcapCARES and promptly develop and implement plans to address underperformance.
- Nurture relationships with regional stakeholders by attending meetings and events to foster strategic partnerships.
- Hold regular meetings with regional funders and partners to cultivate teamwork, gather feedback, and devise operational plans.
- Identify potential risks and escalate concerns to the AVP of Programs and Services.
- Manage employee tenure processes for direct reports.
- Lead, develop, and perform regular assessments of the team to improve capability and meet quality and performance targets.
- Positively represent Fedcap Maine at all times, highlighting services and benefits to participants, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Uphold all agency policies, values, and expectations in performing this role.
- Regularly visit assigned regional offices to observe operations, conduct facility inspections, and engage with staff. Maintain open office hours.
- Promote Mobility Mentoring in interactions with participants.
- Bachelor's degree in vocational rehabilitation, human services, adult education, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. A master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience.
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience directing case management, workforce development, or adult education programs, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
