Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the Company's Contract Receivable portfolio, which includes billing processes, follow-up on outstanding receivables, and related reporting tasks. Key responsibilities encompass:

  • Assisting in the precise and timely closure of the general ledger, which involves preparing and posting journal entries, conducting account reconciliations, and performing variance analysis and research.
  • Processing remote deposits and ensuring that general ledger account balances comply with internal controls and GAAP standards.
  • Leading various accounting initiatives and projects aimed at process enhancement, regulatory compliance, and policy development.
  • Executing additional duties as required to support the overarching objectives of the Accounting Team.

Key Result Areas (KRAs):

  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Expertise in general ledger accounting.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of the contract receivables portfolio.
  • Generating and submitting accurate and timely billing related to contract receivables.
  • Overseeing the fixed assets ledger to ensure proper setup, timely capitalization, depreciation, and disposal in line with established company policies.
  • Preparing month-end accruals and balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Documenting and developing business processes and accounting procedures to enhance internal controls.
  • Utilizing systems to promote efficient processes and reporting.
  • Collaborating internally and cross-functionally to achieve team goals.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting or a related field.
  • Four to five years of experience in accounting, preferably with a background in public accounting or healthcare.
  • Proficiency in general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end closing process.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, including V-lookups, pivot tables, and conditional statements.
