Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Social Worker to join our team at the City County Information Technology Commission. As a Social Worker, you will play a critical role in providing case management services to families and children in the areas of youth justice, child abuse and neglect, parenting, financial and household management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine the range of services needed through interviews, home visits, and other evaluation procedures.
  • Prepare complete and thorough case plans as required by local, state, and federal government, and prepare ongoing follow-up reports on each case assigned.
  • Provide case work services individually or as part of an inter-agency team approach in areas such as family relationships, finances, parent-child relationships, domestic abuse, separation, juvenile delinquency, and other problems.
  • Place children in substitute care settings, maintain ongoing supervision of placements, and evaluate the social adjustment of the children.
  • Provide case management to children with physical disabilities, mental health issues, and children in need of protective services, juvenile justice youth, and their families.
  • Provide oversight of youth subject to court orders to monitor community safety.
  • Provide emergency and ongoing services to families with the objective of preventing family breakup, and provide services to reunite families.
  • Provide court testimony and corresponding timely completion of court documentation.
  • Provide emergency after-hours on-call duties, including telephone and in-person responses to situations involving child abuse/neglect and/or youth justice.
  • Participate in professional training programs to develop the ability to perform the full range of Social Worker duties and responsibilities.
  • Develop solutions to work issues that add value for our customers.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance, and work extra hours as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in social work or a closely related field.
  • Social work certification at time of hire or obtained within two years of hire.
  • Possession of a driver's license and a driving record that meets County standards, or ability to obtain reliable transportation.
Working Conditions

This position requires a high level of impartiality, integrity, neutrality, and confidentiality. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in providing a variety of case management services to families and children in the areas of youth justice, child abuse and neglect, parenting, financial and household management.
