Mirror is committed to providing equal opportunities to all qualified candidates. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate individual to join our team as a Residential Program Technician.

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring client behavior and movements, transporting clients, observing client urinalysis screens, and supporting the clinical programs and services offered by Mirror. This role requires a strong understanding of addiction and the ability to work effectively with individuals who are struggling with substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise clients during assigned hours and monitor groups as required.
  2. Provide educational presentations and facilitate recreation therapy as directed by your supervisor.
  3. Familiarize yourself with the status of each individual client on a daily basis.
  4. Complete orientation-related paperwork on each client as directed by your supervisor.
  5. Provide transportation for clients to community-based providers.
  6. Maintain a record of all client movement within the facility.
  7. Maintain client and program confidentiality as required by federal laws.
  8. Supervise clients during urine specimen collection process during assigned hours.
  9. Notify the appropriate person if a client fails to provide a urine sample when required.
  10. Ensure the safety of clients by securing the Mirror Residential building while on duty.
  11. Monitor referred clients as necessary when on Mirror property, at Mirror-related activities in the community, or while at scheduled appointments with community providers.
  12. Maintain a true and accurate record of client behavior and program-related activities in the client's daily case record within Credible.
  13. Attend and participate in all staff meetings as directed by the Facility Director.
  14. Assist in the collection of client fees as it directly impacts the relationship between the client and Mirror.
  15. Assure that copies of all official program communications and client-related materials are filed appropriately and in the designated client files.
  16. Duplicate records and papers as required.
  17. Handle crisis situations as they might arise and intervene appropriately to diffuse or de-escalate potentially harmful situations.
  18. Be available for case staffing conferences when requested by your supervisor.
  19. Assist Mirror's counseling and administrative staff with KDADS compliance and/or funding source audit conditions.
  20. Perform other job-related functions as directed by your immediate supervisor.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or General Educational Development certificate.
  2. College courses in human services or the field of addiction would be desirable.
  3. Experience in supervising and interacting with persons addicted to drugs or the prison population would be desirable.
  4. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Word with basic understanding of Excel preferred.
  5. Good reading, writing, and communication skills.
  6. Ability to organize and prioritize and follow through with multiple tasks related to client charting (within the electronic record) and tracking the physical whereabouts of the clients referred to Mirror Residential programs.
  7. Capable of working overtime hours past 40.
  8. Awareness of the disease of addiction.
  9. Must be able to pass KBI (et al.) security check.
  10. Employees who have been diagnosed with any type of substance use disorder or behavioral addiction/compulsion must have sustained a minimum of two consecutive years of abstinence from all intoxicating substances and symptoms of their chemical and/or behavioral addiction; and must be in full sustained remission.
  11. Must be proficient in computer skills and/or experience or skills with an Electronic Health Record.
  12. Job functions in this position may involve some walking, climbing stairs, bending, lifting (or assisting) up to 40/50 pounds.
