Job Title: Parent Child Assistance Program Specialist

Job Summary:

Kansas Children's Service League is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Parent Child Assistance Program Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will work closely with expectant mothers and new parents who are struggling with substance abuse, providing case management services and connecting them with essential community support resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish trusting relationships with high-risk mothers and their families, using a strengths-based approach and cultural competence.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify needs and develop personalized service plans, addressing social, health, and treatment needs.
  • Collaborate with community professionals, including judges, child welfare workers, and healthcare providers, to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of community resources, including housing and treatment options, to facilitate access for families.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 4 years of experience working with at-risk children and families.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage high-risk mothers and their families effectively.
  • Ability to conduct sensitive and confidential interviews.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Addiction and Prevention Services (AAPS) Certification.
  • 1 year of experience working with parents with drug and alcohol issues.
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Individuals with life experience dealing with substance abuse issues or other relevant issues.
