PRIMARY DUTIES:

Accounts Receivable and Billing:

  • Oversee the expiration and renewal processes for customer subscriptions and maintenance agreements.
  • Prepare and issue maintenance quotes.
  • Generate recurring invoices for clients.
  • Record check and wire transfer receipts.
  • Follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Create milestone invoices related to Sales Orders.

Accounts Payable:

  • Code and process weekly shipping invoices along with other general and administrative invoices.
  • Generate and execute wire payments.
  • Input monthly employee expense reports into the ERP system.
  • Monitor and manage payment requests.
  • Prepare the weekly Vendor Check Run.
  • Conduct annual preparation of 1099 forms.

General Ledger and Financial Reporting:

  • Execute journal entries.
  • Engage in month-end closing activities.
  • Compile ad hoc financial reports as required.
  • Assist with tax and audit inquiries.

Annual Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the VA Small Business Sub-Contracting Summary Report and Plan.
  • Manage registration renewals for the US and Canada.
  • Conduct physical inventory assessments.

The Staff Accountant will also undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the EVP of Finance.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Fundamental understanding of financial statements and reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proficient computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, with experience in integrated ERP/Financial systems (Abas or similar) and Hyperion for reporting and planning preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Capability to work independently.

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, ideally with a focus on Accounting.
  • Three to five years of experience in an accounting role.
  • Experience in public accounting and/or accounting within a manufacturing context is preferred but not mandatory.
