Position Summary:
This role is essential in ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of the College Campus facilities, contributing to a secure and welcoming environment. The individual will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing custodial operations to uphold the quality standards of the College Campus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver maintenance services to guarantee the effective operation and upkeep of College Campus facilities.
- Support the implementation of preventative maintenance for building assets and equipment.
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining an adequate inventory of repair supplies, materials, and equipment.
- Facilitate College relocations for staff and associated equipment and furnishings, preparing spaces for new or enhanced classroom or office features.
- Help with the setup and breakdown of internal and special events as needed.
- Perform custodial duties, including floor maintenance and waste collection, especially during staffing shortages.
- Conduct drywall and painting repairs within the College Campus buildings.
- Manage exterior building maintenance, grounds upkeep, and snow/ice removal tasks.
- Communicate effectively with all College personnel and stakeholders.
- Carry out other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To be considered proficient and fully qualified, candidates should possess:
Education: A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Familiarity with custodial service techniques, equipment operation, and maintenance procedures, along with compliance to safety and OSHA regulations. The role requires physical exertion, including heavy lifting and operating custodial tools and equipment. Flexibility in work schedule may be necessary.
- Strong communication skills to foster effective teamwork with supervisors, colleagues, students, and the public, in alignment with the College's mission. The ability to work independently and manage tasks in a highly interactive environment is essential, as is coping with stress from workload and deadlines.
- A proactive and self-motivated attitude is essential.
Experience: Relevant experience is preferred.
Background Check: Candidates must successfully pass a background check.
Work Environment:
This position is set within a conventional educational environment. Employees may occasionally encounter cleaning chemicals and the associated hazards of industry-specific equipment.
