Job Description

The Department of Surgery at the University of Virginia is seeking a highly qualified candidate for a Vascular & Endovascular Surgery faculty position. This opportunity will allow the successful candidate to contribute to the growth of clinical care services for the region's vascular surgical population and participate in student, resident, fellow, and post-graduate mentorship and teaching.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in and assist in all elements of vascular surgical practice in our team-and-center-based care programs.
  • Contribute to ongoing efforts in our aortic center, limb-preservation program, venous center, hemodialysis access system, and outreach clinics.
  • Engage and further develop and lead our multidisciplinary limb-preservation program in collaboration with our team of medical specialists, interventional colleagues, and surgical podiatric service.
Requirements
  • Medical degree.
  • Completed or currently completing a vascular fellowship or residency.
  • Board-eligible or board-certified in vascular surgery.
  • Expertise in the care of vascular patients with a particular interest in limb-preservation and peripheral arterial disease.
  • Possession of RVT or RVPI.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong interest in a career in academic medicine.
  • Past experience with research or teaching pursuits.
  • Thoughtful, prepared proposal for an academic career path.
