Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified vascular surgeon to join our faculty at the University of Virginia. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of our vascular surgical services, participate in student, resident, and fellow mentorship and teaching, and engage in scholarly activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in and assist in all elements of vascular surgical practice, including ongoing efforts in our aortic center, limb-preservation program, venous center, hemodialysis access system, and outreach clinics.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of our multidisciplinary limb-preservation program in collaboration with our team of medical specialists, interventional colleagues, and surgical podiatric service.
  • Engage in teaching and mentorship activities, including student, resident, and fellow education and training.
  • Pursue scholarly activities, including research and publication, and contribute to the advancement of vascular surgery through academic and professional organizations.
Requirements
  • Medical degree and completion of a vascular fellowship or residency.
  • Board eligibility or certification in vascular surgery and expertise in the care of vascular patients, with a particular interest in limb-preservation and peripheral arterial disease.
  • Possession of RVT or RVPI certification, as we also manage multiple Diagnostic Vascular Laboratory sites.
  • A strong interest in a career in academic medicine, demonstrated through past experience with research or teaching pursuits and a thoughtful, prepared proposal for an academic career path.
