JOB SUMMARY

This role entails overseeing financial forecasting and reporting for multiple operational sites within the region. The position is accountable for delivering insights and analyses of financial performance, identifying trends, and recommending strategies to enhance profitability, particularly focusing on operational expense management and inventory shrinkage.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze key factors contributing to operational expense variances compared to the budget and previous year's performance.
  • Identify underperforming clients and propose strategies to enhance profitability.
  • Conduct detailed analyses to determine the main factors affecting operational expense variances.
  • Engage in the recruitment, training, and management of the Inventory Control Manager.
  • Assist in the recruitment, training, and management of finance associates and cashiers.
  • Collaborate with the Inventory team to discover opportunities for reducing both operational and non-operational shrink.
  • Assess the financial implications of significant operational cost control initiatives.
  • In partnership with the Region Vice President of Finance, lead the shrink committee for the region.
  • Support the Region Vice President of Finance and Market Vice President of Finance in monthly performance forecasting.
  • Ensure that overall trends and the effects of key initiatives are accurately represented in the forecasts.
  • Work collaboratively with departments to ensure comprehension of the overall forecast and the impact of their key initiatives.
  • Assist the Region Vice President of Finance in preparing the Annual Profit Plan concerning operational expenses and initiatives.
  • Serve as the local expert in Sysco's analytical tools.
  • Oversee the preparation of all capital investment proposals for the region.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or Economics is required.
  • An MBA is preferred.

Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis and/or accounting is required.
  • Prior managerial experience is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

  • None required.

Professional Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Ability to analyze data and derive logical conclusions and recommendations.
  • Capable of leading and directing clerical roles.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Word and Excel.
