WORK SCHEDULE:

JOB SUMMARY

This role is pivotal in overseeing financial forecasting and reporting for a multi-site region. The individual will analyze financial performance and identify trends, providing actionable insights to enhance profitability, particularly focusing on operational expense management and inventory shrinkage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze operational expense variances against budget and prior year results.
  • Identify and recommend strategies for underperforming customers to enhance profitability.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of operational expense variances.
  • Assist in the recruitment, training, and management of the Inventory Control Manager.
  • Support the recruitment and training of finance associates and cashiers.
  • Collaborate with the Inventory team to pinpoint opportunities for reducing both operational and non-operational shrink.
  • Assess the financial implications of key cost control initiatives.
  • Lead the shrink committee in collaboration with the Region Vice President of Finance.
  • Support the monthly forecasting process with the Region and Market Vice Presidents of Finance.
  • Ensure accurate reflection of trends and key initiatives in financial forecasts.
  • Work closely with departments to clarify the overall forecast and its implications.
  • Assist in preparing the Annual Profit Plan (AOP) focusing on operational expenses and initiatives.
  • Act as the local expert in Sysco's analytical tools.
  • Prepare all capital investment proposals for the region.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or Economics is required.
  • An MBA is preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis or accounting is required.
  • Prior managerial experience is preferred.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Ability to analyze data and derive logical conclusions and recommendations.
  • Capability to lead and manage clerical staff.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Word and Excel.
