JOB SUMMARY
This role is pivotal in overseeing financial forecasting and reporting for a multi-site region. The position involves delivering insights and analyses of financial performance, identifying trends, and recommending strategies to enhance profitability, particularly focusing on operational expense management and inventory control.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze key drivers of operational expense variances against budget and prior year results.
- Identify underperforming clients and propose strategies to enhance profitability.
- Provide detailed analysis of operational expense variances to budget and prior year.
- Engage in the recruitment, training, and management of the Inventory Control Manager.
- Support the recruitment, training, and management of finance associates and cashiers.
- Collaborate with the Inventory team to discover opportunities for reducing operational and non-operational shrink.
- Assess the financial impact of key operational cost control initiatives.
- In partnership with the Region Vice President of Finance, lead the shrink committee for the region.
- Assist the Region Vice President of Finance and Market Vice President of Finance with monthly performance forecasting.
- Ensure that overall trends and the impacts of key initiatives are accurately reflected in the forecast.
- Work with each department to ensure understanding of the overall forecast and the implications of their initiatives.
- Assist the Region Vice President of Finance in preparing the Annual Profit Plan (AOP) for operational expenses and initiatives.
- Serve as the local expert in Sysco's analytical tools.
- Prepare all capital investment proposals for the region.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or Economics is required.
- An MBA is preferred.
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis and/or accounting is required.
- Prior managerial experience is preferred.

Professional Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to analyze data and derive logical conclusions and recommendations.
- Capable of leading and directing clerical staff.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Word and Excel.
