We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Transportation Engineering Intern to join our team at Stantec. As a Transportation Engineering Intern, you will be involved in plans production and design of highways and local municipal roads. You will assist project managers, project engineers, and senior designers in various areas, including field surveys, roadside safety design, traffic staging, and roadway drainage design. You will also process field notes and data in Microstation/ORD/OBM and prepare survey reports.
Key Responsibilities
Perform field surveys as a member of Stantec field crews, including control, topo, drainage, and utility surveys.
Perform roadside safety design, traffic staging, and roadway drainage design.
Process field notes and field data in Microstation/ORD/OBM.
Prepare survey reports.
Qualifications
This position is intended for engineering students of an accredited Civil Engineering program with an emphasis on Transportation Engineering. Preferred candidates will also have courses related to structural engineering, roadway geometrics, engineering mechanics, concrete design, steel design, timber design, and prestressed concrete design. Familiarity with highway and roadway design-related software such as MicroStation/OBM/ORD is also preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
