Position Overview:

The Night Auditor plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of Front Office financial records on a daily basis. This position involves summarizing and compiling essential information for the hotel's financial documentation while monitoring room revenue, occupancy rates, and other key operational statistics.

This role also entails preparing a comprehensive summary of cash, check, and credit card transactions, reflecting the hotel's financial performance for the day.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with guests and team members in a friendly and service-oriented manner, maintaining a positive attitude at all times.
  • Fostering a supportive work environment by addressing and resolving conflicts calmly and professionally.
  • Delivering exceptional service to all guests by promptly and courteously responding to their requests during check-in, check-out, and throughout their stay.
  • Managing guest check-ins and check-outs, assigning rooms according to guest preferences and reservation details, and assisting with booking and canceling reservations as necessary.
  • Transferring charges and deposits to master accounts while ensuring all account postings and balances are accurate.
  • Preparing and filing reservations for the upcoming business day.
  • Monitoring room revenues, occupancy statistics, and other relevant front office metrics.
  • Compiling a summary of cash, check, and credit card activities.
  • Verifying postings and documentation for accuracy, while recording and analyzing computerized financial information.
  • Adhering to the End of Day/Night Audit Checklist.
  • Conducting wake-up calls as required.
  • Executing the end-of-day process in property management software (PMS).
  • Staying informed about hotel developments by reviewing communications for each shift.
  • Minimizing revenue loss by following established credit and inventory control procedures.
  • Monitoring customer accounts to ensure compliance with hotel credit limits and verifying registration information.
  • Following hotel policies regarding cash handling and documentation.
  • Complying with all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment and reporting any safety concerns to management immediately.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year of customer service experience, preferably in the hospitality sector.
  • Ability to interpret various instructions provided in written, oral, or scheduled formats.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English to effectively communicate with guests and team members.
  • Familiarity with reservation and POS systems.
  • Proficient in computer operations and software.
  • Detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record (if applicable).
