The Position

(Frameworks, Reusable Components, and Internal Developer Tools)

We are in search of a seasoned and proficient Front-End Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. In this capacity, you will be tasked with the creation and maintenance of foundational frameworks and reusable components that will be utilized by all teams in developing our production application. Additionally, you will support our server team by contributing to the development of developer tools and dashboards. This role is pivotal in shaping the front-end development experience and establishing standards for our engineering organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable front-end frameworks and libraries, ensuring comprehensive documentation and strategies to promote adoption across various projects and teams.
  • Assist teams in constructing a comprehensive suite of reusable UI components, guaranteeing consistency and maintainability throughout our application ecosystem.
  • Create shared modules and utilities, including routing layers and data-fetching hooks, addressing cross-cutting concerns.
  • Develop and maintain developer tools to enhance the internal user experience.
  • Ensure that the frameworks, components, and modules adhere to best practices concerning code quality, performance, accessibility, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with peers to establish coding standards, guidelines, and best practices for front-end web development.
  • Stay informed about the latest front-end technologies, trends, and industry best practices, advocating for their adoption when appropriate.
  • Contribute to the overall front-end development strategy and decision-making processes within the organization.
  • Mentor and guide other front-end developers, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and continuous learning.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional engineering experience, including hands-on experience in planning, writing, debugging, and optimizing software.
  • Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries such as TypeScript, React, useQuery, hooks, and CSS-in-JS.
  • Solid understanding of front-end build tools and processes.
  • Experience with state management solutions, including Contexts and Reducers.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of front-end testing frameworks and best practices.
  • Experience in developing web applications compliant with the latest WCAG accessibility standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to decompose complex requirements into efficient and maintainable solutions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of coordinating with multiple teams.
  • Bonus Qualifications:
    • Experience building native iOS and Android applications using React Native or similar frameworks.
    • Familiarity with scripting languages for development and automation tools.
    • Experience in developing clinically-focused software or Healthcare Information Technology.
    • Experience in a scale-up environment or entrepreneurial organization.
    • Experience working remotely with a distributed team.

Compensation and Benefits

The total compensation for this role is competitive, with a base salary range of $180,000 to $210,000, alongside a 401k match, healthcare coverage, paid time off, and a comprehensive array of additional benefits and perks.
