Airport Lounge Culinary Supervisor

Sodexo is seeking a Culinary Supervisor to join our dynamic team at a prestigious airport lounge.

This role involves overseeing kitchen staff within the lounge environment.

Position Overview:
  • The Culinary Supervisor will expertly prepare, portion, cook, and present a diverse range of hot and cold dishes for various meal services, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events.
  • Responsibilities may vary based on business needs and client specifications.
  • Full availability is required, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:
  • May prepare and serve food at an a la carte station.
  • Utilizes various kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, and processes fruits, vegetables, and proteins for culinary use.
  • Ensures exceptional service quality to all customers.
  • Evaluates food production needs, maintains records, and requisitions necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of workstations and adheres to all safety and regulatory guidelines.
  • Participates in training related to food safety and allergen awareness.
  • Follows all food safety policies and procedures.
  • Reports incidents and injuries promptly.
  • Engages in regular safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Attends designated training programs, both in-person and online.
  • Produces a variety of food items using advanced cooking techniques.
  • Follows detailed recipes for preparing a wide range of food items.
  • May assist in supervising kitchen staff.
  • Prepares bakery items, manages inventory, and accommodates special dietary needs.
  • Acts as a lead cook, mentoring less experienced kitchen staff.
  • Independently performs advanced cooking tasks.
  • Possesses advanced knife skills.
  • May oversee production staff and delegate tasks.
  • Utilizes production software for inventory management.
  • May perform additional duties as assigned.

Experience & Knowledge:
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Four or more years of relevant culinary experience.
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment and cash-handling procedures is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of food preparation processes.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to see clearly at various distances and adjust focus.
  • Significant mobility is required.
  • Capacity to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 35 pounds regularly, and occasionally lift/move 40 pounds.

Working Conditions:
  • Primarily indoors, with potential supervision of outdoor events.
  • Varied schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Controlled environment with possible exposure to temperature variations during outdoor activities.
  • Noise levels may range from moderate to loud.
