Job Summary

The Plant Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all plant processing equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operation of the facility. This role requires a strong understanding of bioprocessing processes, computerized equipment, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). The successful candidate will be able to adapt to 12-hour shift work and meet call-in requirements as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and operate all processes associated with the plant, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
  • Perform maintenance and basic repairs of plant equipment, documenting activities and ensuring accurate and timely logs.
  • Operate the Distributed Control System (DCS) for the plant, safely performing basic electrical troubleshooting.
  • Follow procedures for plant start-up, shut-down, cleaning, and batching, collecting and testing quality control samples, and interpreting QA/QC results.
  • Assist in removal, installation, rebuild, and performance of preventive and predictive maintenance on all equipment associated with plant processes.
  • Help maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to sanitation schedules and completing assigned tasks.
  • Notify management of safety, environmental, quality, and production concerns, problems, and opportunities.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in a production environment preferred, with documented successful performance as a Plant Technician I or equivalent work experience required for higher-level positions.
  • Working knowledge in math, reading comprehension, and mechanical reasoning required.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with experience with software systems such as Maximo preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
Work Environment
