Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Specialist to join our team at King Aerospace. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for ordering parts, materials, and supplies in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement and Inventory Management: Order and distribute parts, materials, and supplies to support mission requirements, ensuring adequate inventory levels and timely delivery.
  • Vendor Qualification and Management: Qualify and manage approved vendors, ensuring they meet quality and delivery standards, provide competitive pricing, and are a qualified and approved source.
  • Problem-Solving and Communication: Respond to vendor production and delivery problems, providing inter-departmental assistance and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Shortage Reporting and Expediting: Monitor shortage reporting, provide vendor expediting interface for critical purchased material requirements, and ensure adequate vendor response to production schedules and reschedules.
  • Purchasing Lead Times and Performance Data: Provide and update purchasing lead times for daily materials management, ensuring adequate vendor response to production schedules and reschedules, and maintain objective performance data for vendor findings.
  • Cost Savings and Quality Improvement: Identify and report cost-saving opportunities, provide timely management of non-conformance reports, and improve overall quality.
  • Invoice Review and Resolution: Review and resolve invoices that deviate from acknowledged contracts or confirmed agreements, and perform any required staff work or cost/price analysis.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Minimum of three years of industrial purchasing experience, with previous aviation purchasing experience highly desired.
  • Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations, and ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Math Ability: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, internet software, email, database software, inventory software, and order processing software.
Work Environment

The Purchasing Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise levels, occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, and regular use of computer and communication equipment.

Physical Demands
  • Physical Activity: Regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear, frequently required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
