Signal Processing Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Signal Processing Engineer to join our team at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. As a Signal Processing Engineer, you will be responsible for developing novel concepts to defeat enemy radar and communication systems. This will involve a multitude of sub-disciplines in the signal processing field, including estimation and detection theory, communication systems, and statistical signal processing.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop novel concepts to defeat enemy radar and communication systems
* Study current and future radar and communication systems and evaluate their performance
* Participate in the end-to-end modeling and performance evaluation of new systems being designed
* Participate in prototyping of new concepts
* Brief sponsors and internal APL staff
Qualifications
* Master's degree in engineering with a concentration in signal processing, or another related discipline
* At least five years of relevant experience related to signal processing design and analysis
* Strong MATLAB or Python programming experience
* Coursework in estimation and detection theory, communication systems, statistical signal processing, or equivalent
* Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level clearance by start date and can ultimately obtain a TS/SCI level security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
* Ph.D. in signal processing, estimation theory, or another related discipline
* At least ten years of experience in the signal processing field
* Experience with field testing, software-defined radios, Xilinx System Generator, or MATLAB HDL Coder
* Experience modeling interferometry, space-time adaptive processing, synthetic aperture radar, clutter, or trackers and C++ experience
* Experience leading small technical teams and communicating with stakeholders
* Currently hold an active security clearance
