Job Title: Cosmetic Counter Manager

The Cosmetic Counter Manager plays a crucial role in the success of our stores, reporting directly to the Sales Team Manager or Store Manager. This position is responsible for ensuring the uniform execution of Belk's direction within their store, meeting and exceeding goals established by Belk and the cooperative vendor.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Development: Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly business and recommend strategies to impact business to Store Management and Vendor Account Executive.
  • Managing Counter Sales: Help each associate meet or exceed personal Sales Per Hour (SPH) goals based on counter volume standards.
  • Staffing and Development: Recruit, interview, and retain quality staff, develop bench strength in existing staff, and recommend candidates for promotion or added responsibility.
  • Scheduling and Productivity: Implement effective scheduling to guarantee proper coverage at all times based on business needs, staff according to daily, weekly, and monthly sales plans to maximize counter productivity.
  • Customer Service: Meet or exceed SPH goals, thank each customer by name following a purchase, handle each transaction efficiently and accurately, and provide a high level of customer service to support Customer Satisfaction Surveys (CSS).
  • General Responsibilities: Coordinate and maintain floor and stock areas consistent with store standards, unpack new merchandise deliveries in a timely manner, and ensure timely set-up for promotional events.

Requirements:

  • No education requirement.
  • 3-5 years of retail experience.
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to use computer keyboard, standard telephone, POS terminal, and other related business equipment.
  • Hand manipulation to remove sensor tags.
  • Task demands vary in each department due to different types of merchandise.
  • Ability to apply treatment/make-up to customers' faces.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to push/pull pounds when moving stock carts.
  • Stocking requirements can involve reaching above and below shoulder level and lifting 25-50 pound boxes.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, due to shift rotation.
