Job Summary

REI is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Experiences Operations Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our Regional Experiences team, you will be responsible for supervising and mentoring a team of experienced professionals, including Regional Fleet Coordinators, Food & Beverage Coordinators, customer service representatives, and program staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to ensure the successful delivery of programming content and the safety of all participants in the field.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of experienced professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of programs and events.
  • Collaborate with store management teams to ensure seamless execution of programs and events.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with land management agencies and local business partners to ensure successful program execution.
  • Manage and maintain equipment, including vehicles and outdoor gear, to ensure safe and efficient program execution.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to ensure the safety of all participants in the field.
  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure that all customers receive a high level of service.
  • Represent REI's guiding values and mission by modeling and acting in accordance with them.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in outdoor education programs, leadership and development, experiential education instruction, and/or guiding outdoor participation.
  • 1+ years of experience managing and supervising a diverse team.
  • Proven outdoor leadership skills and ability to function collaboratively.
  • Working knowledge of legal, regulatory, and risk management issues related to outdoor education.
  • Excellent presentation and instruction skills.
  • Wilderness First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Wilderness First Responder Certification.
  • Instructor certifications or relevant experience in activities being offered.
  • Valid driver's license with no negative incidents.
  • BA in Leisure and Recreation Management or equivalent.
  • Intermediate level PC skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint.
  • Experience working in a retail environment.
  • Previous Events, Branding, and Experiential Marketing Experience.
