Job Overview

Compensation:

$15 - $15.50 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Care Duties

  • Establish a secure and inviting atmosphere for children in your care.
  • Provide nutritious meals based on a parent-approved menu.
  • Change diapers regularly and assist potty-trained children as needed.
  • Utilize the Brightwheel app to document meals, diaper changes, and nap times.
  • Capture at least one photo of each child daily for parental viewing via the Brightwheel app.
  • Support children in managing their emotions and self-regulation.
  • Report any injuries to the supervisor promptly and provide appropriate care.
  • Assist children in settling down for naps, which may include soothing techniques.
  • Deliver personalized care, particularly for infants, following parental schedules for feeding and sleeping.

Educational Support and Behavior Management

  • Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop engaging lesson plans in various subjects including art, sensory activities, science, math, and literacy.
  • Create a play-based learning environment by offering diverse activities throughout the day.
  • Incorporate process-oriented art projects and maintain sensory play options.
  • Employ positive behavior management strategies with the children.
  • Assist in decorating the classroom to reflect the curriculum themes while adhering to a strict no-negative discipline policy.
  • Work with fellow educators to ensure effective behavior management techniques are applied.

Training and Compliance

  • Adhere to all regulatory procedures throughout the day.
  • Complete required training hours, both on-site and off-site.
  • Pursue additional training opportunities in areas of interest or necessity.
  • Maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios at all times.
  • Avoid personal cell phone use during classroom hours.
Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.
  • Successful completion of background checks.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
