Role Summary

This position plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients with cardiovascular conditions. The successful candidate will utilize advanced ultrasound technology to perform a variety of imaging procedures, ensuring optimal patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Provide comprehensive pre- and post-procedure care, including patient assessments and emergency cardiac interventions as necessary.
  • Equipment Management: Ensure all imaging equipment is properly calibrated and maintained, documenting maintenance activities and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
  • Diagnostic Imaging: Generate high-quality ultrasound images of cardiac and vascular structures, performing complex studies as required.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with medical staff to provide real-time readings and reports during both invasive and non-invasive procedures.
  • Training and Support: Assist in the training of new staff and serve as a resource for fellow sonographers.
  • Data Management: Accurately record patient information and manage report storage systems, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
  • Room Preparation: Prepare the procedure room and equipment for daily operations, ensuring efficiency between patient procedures.
  • On-Call Duties: Be available to respond to urgent imaging needs as required.
Qualifications

Educational Background: An Associate's degree in Sonography, Radiology, or a related field is required, or completion of a twelve-month ultrasound program.

Licensure/Certification: Candidates must be registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or be registry-eligible with a commitment to obtain registration within one year of hire.

Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in an acute care hospital setting is preferred.

Skills and Competencies: Specific competencies as required by the organization.

Work Environment

This position is full-time, requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week, primarily during daytime shifts. The role is based in a collaborative healthcare environment focused on patient-centered care.
