Position Overview
The Pediatric Eye Care Technician plays a crucial role in supporting the healthcare team by performing both technical and administrative tasks that facilitate the delivery of exceptional care to young patients and their families in an outpatient ophthalmic setting.

Key Responsibilities
As a Pediatric Eye Care Technician, your duties will include:
  • Collecting and reviewing patient information and medical histories.
  • Utilizing electronic medical record systems to update patient data.
  • Administering diagnostic assessments and tests.
  • Preparing and dispensing prescribed eye medications.
  • Providing patients with information regarding eye care and contact lenses.
  • Maintaining and sanitizing ophthalmic instruments and equipment.
  • Assisting healthcare providers during basic patient procedures.
  • Managing the operational aspects of pediatric ophthalmology clinics, including file maintenance, exam room stocking, and equipment upkeep.
  • Conducting follow-up communications with patients as necessary.

Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:
Minimum of one year of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician, preferably in a pediatric environment.

Certifications:
Current BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association is required upon hire.

Work Environment
This position requires the ability to perform essential functions, including:
  • Frequent standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Regular use of hands for typing and writing.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds.
  • Consistent visual and auditory engagement in daily tasks.
