Job Title: Outpatient Counselor

Cumberland Heights Foundation, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Outpatient Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our treatment team, you will provide essential services to individuals and families struggling with addiction and mental health issues.

Job Summary:

The Outpatient Counselor will work closely with patients to create personalized treatment plans, providing a safe and supportive environment for recovery. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical evaluations and assessments to identify patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices and the Cumberland Heights Model of Care.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and support.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records, adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and supervision to ensure high-quality care and address any concerns or issues.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues, using clear and concise language to convey complex information.
  • Remain up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and relevant research to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a related field (e.g., counseling, counseling psychology, marriage and family therapy, social work) or LADAC I certification.
  • One year of experience in addictions-related treatment, preferably with age/population-specific addiction treatment.
  • Strong counseling skills, with the ability to teach, model, and use evidence-based practices for substance use disorders and common co-occurring disorders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and specialty software, including electronic medical records.
  • Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 25 pounds, with the ability to move around within and between buildings.
  • One year of recovery required, with five years preferred.
Work Environment:

This position is located in a residential or non-residential behavioral healthcare organization, with interaction with people experiencing extreme stress responses, including withdrawal and/or acute intoxication and co-occurring mental health disorders. The work environment may involve evening, night, and/or weekend work, as well as staying overnight for inclement weather as part of critical staffing.

Salary:

$49K to $57K/yr depending on education and license.
