Position Overview:

The Facilities Operations Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the upkeep and functionality of our facilities, contributing to a welcoming environment for all members and visitors. This position is essential for maintaining the operational integrity of our community outreach facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular assessments, maintenance, and repairs of all facility structures and equipment, including carpentry, painting, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and safety of the facility grounds, ensuring outdoor areas are well-maintained and visually appealing.
  • Manage all facility-related tasks, including security, event setup and breakdown, daily cleaning of restrooms, and overall housekeeping duties.
  • Monitor inventory levels of maintenance supplies and equipment necessary for effective facility operations.
  • Identify and report any unsafe conditions or necessary repairs to the Facilities Manager.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in optimal working condition through regular preventative maintenance.
  • Handle deliveries and ensure items are properly routed within the facility.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and use equipment according to the manufacturer's guidelines.
  • Embody the organization's core values of hospitality, unity, relationships, and service.
  • Support the overall mission of the organization by undertaking additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Proven experience in construction and repair techniques relevant to carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, along with two years of relevant building maintenance experience.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Familiarity with church environments is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient in basic math and capable of reading measuring tools.
  • Able to interpret plans, specifications, and instructions in English.
  • Skilled in prioritizing tasks and adapting to changing schedules.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of service.
  • Intermediate English communication skills are essential for effective interaction with staff and community members.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is advantageous.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Work Environment:

This role requires physical stamina, including frequent movement, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in various weather conditions. The position may involve weekend hours and overtime as necessary.
