Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position in our Pediatric Unit is a full-time opportunity that requires a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. As an LPN, you will be responsible for coordinating clinical activities for a group of assigned patients, utilizing the nursing process to provide care that meets their specific needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate clinical activities for assigned patients, including the use of the nursing process to provide care that meets their specific needs.
  • Work within the framework of the State LPN Practice Act and comply with hospital and nursing standards in the performance of job duties and responsibilities.
  • Support the goals and objectives of the department and of the hospital.
  • Float among units within the hospital as required.
Requirements
  • Current Louisiana LPN licensure.
  • IV Therapy certification required.
  • Current BLS certification upon hire through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses.
  • NRP and PALS certification through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses within 6 months of hire.
  • CPI certification required within 6 months of hire.
Physical Demands

The LPN must possess good physical health and be able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods of time. Lifting at least 20 pounds is required, and the ability to work with a moderate level of noise is necessary.
