Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Production and Inventory Control Manager to lead our production planning and inventory management efforts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing executable production plans, optimizing factory capacity, and ensuring high inventory accuracy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage manufacturing planning, material management, inventory control, shipping & receiving, and support activities within various manufacturing and supply chain areas.
  • Coordinate subordinate employee recruitment, selection, and training, performance assessment, work assignments, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
  • Own the enterprise system planning parameters and oversee material planning, production scheduling, warehousing, and shipping.
  • Oversee production control activities to ensure material flow through production in support of production plans to satisfy business goals and customer demands within shop capacity.
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals (KPIs), objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Direct and oversee corrective and mitigation actions to continuously improve the effectiveness of our business management system.
  • Work with the Quality Department to ensure that all raw material and outside processes meet the appropriate Quality requirements.
  • Oversee production systems integrity and drive inventory optimization to minimize cost.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of customer requirements, including maintaining customer-specified service levels.
  • Manage all material handling activities, including inbound material receipts and storage, supply of material to production lines, and outbound shipment of finished goods needed for customer shipments, including transportation management and freight cost targets.
  • Drive continuous improvement through work processes.
  • Work with purchasing to ensure any stock outs are proactively addressed. Responsible for the development, tracking, and execution of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to include just-in-time (JIT) performance.
  • Work with Industrial Engineering for overall plant production plan and execution strategies within factory capacity.
Requirements
  • BS Degree in Operations, Management, Business, or related field plus a minimum of 8 years (or equivalent years of experience).
  • Manufacturing planning experience, including two years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
  • Proficient in the use of MRP systems.
  • May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
Preferred Qualifications
  • APICS certification a plus.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements

Office and/or manufacturing environment.

Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.

Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones), frequent use of arm-hand steadiness, finger dexterity, and manual dexterity for small part assembly.

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Travel Requirements

Up to 5% - May travel to other Kratos Defense locations.
