Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and direct Quality Assurance Technicians to ensure seamless coverage and effective implementation of quality assurance processes.
  • Oversee all in-plant Food Safety issues and develop, review, and update HACCP plans to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and verify HACCP critical control points to prevent food safety risks.
  • Investigate customer complaints and collaborate with Sales Manager, Operations Manager, and Processing Managers to implement changes in manufacturing procedures.
  • Verify all labeling and coding of product to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain Child Nutrition program and relationships with WDATCP and FDA.
  • Continuously examine and review plant processes to identify and remove potential areas of concern to quality or food safety.
  • Develop effective training procedures to address food safety and other areas related to Quality Assurance and operations.
  • Maintain GFSI (SQF) in-plant certifications and initiate continuing education programs for Quality Assurance employees.
  • Investigate and resolve water/well certifications issues.
Requirements
  • Minimum 4 years of Quality experience.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and math skills.
  • HACCP certified.
  • Ability to walk throughout all plant areas, climb ladders, and lift 30-40 lbs.
  • Visual acuity to detect quality variations and food safety situations.
  • Excellent English skills required; Bilingual in English/Spanish (read/write/speak) preferred.
