Job Purpose

This role involves being part of a dedicated team responsible for executing both tactical and strategic procurement activities to ensure timely delivery and overall readiness of parts in support of Manufacturing, Engine Assembly, and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operations. This position encompasses cost management, sourcing, and supplier relationship management within the Purchasing Department. Responsibilities include initiating and assessing Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to meet business requirements, placing Purchase Orders (POs) based on cost, quality, and delivery criteria, and coordinating discussions with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met. The individual in this role will be accountable for ensuring timely delivery and the successful achievement of project milestones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain effective communication with suppliers to support timely delivery for manufacturing, engine assembly, MRO, and facility requirements. Demonstrate problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills to facilitate hardware disposition and expedite processes to achieve on-time delivery.
  • Manage supplier RFQs and negotiations, awarding contracts based on optimal quality, cost, and delivery terms.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Suppliers to drive process improvement initiatives that support timely delivery. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate process modifications and other project-related tasks.
  • Provide guidance to team members to ensure processes are comprehended and adhered to.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, manufacturing engineering, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience in procurement or supply chain.

Minimum Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or logistics is required.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Ability to cultivate supplier relationships and collaborate effectively within teams to build consensus.

Other Job-Specific Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent negotiation and analytical skills are necessary.
  • A technical understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering drawings, preferably within the Aerospace sector.

Working Conditions

  • Office environment with climate control.
  • This position may occasionally require exposure to manufacturing areas where personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes, is mandatory.
  • Travel requirements are minimal, less than 10%.
