About the Role

MITRE is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our Enterprise Business Systems and Operations Division (EBSOD). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing Systems, Test and Operational Engineering expertise to support the development and implementation of our corporate infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Test and Evaluation Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise in testing and evaluation, including the development and implementation of test techniques, tools, and strategies.
  • Problem-Solving and Collaboration: Collaborate with scientists, analysts, technical experts, and subject matter experts across several technical disciplines to solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Test Data Management: Ensure robust test data preparation and management processes and practices are in place to support the development and testing of our systems.
  • Agile Methodologies: Support EBSOD leaders in defining and implementing their Test and Evaluation Strategies, leveraging Agile methodologies.
  • Incident Response: Respond to outage alerts, investigate for signs of degraded performance, and react accordingly to minimize downtime.
  • Analytics and Mitigation: Develop new analytics and apply mitigations to ensure successful test activities and operations.
  • Requirements Development: Develop future system-level integrated test and operational requirements and review test requirements analysis packages and sensor test evidence.
  • Documentation and Training: Collect, consolidate, and convey requirements and information from stakeholders, leading to documentation and training materials in support of the enterprise, sectors, and users.
  • Test Planning and Execution: Generate test plans, procedures, and reports based on program input and participate in and document real-time test reviews.
  • Engineering Assessments: Perform engineering assessments of system development, testing, and integration.
Requirements
  • Education: Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related major, and a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
  • Citizenship: Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a US government clearance (Secret/TS).
  • Experience: Experience evaluating, recommending, and implementing test techniques, tools, and strategies.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to independently bring new, innovative solutions to corporate challenges, strategically advocate for new approaches, and collaborate with teams with loosely defined objectives.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Software Development Knowledge: Knowledge of software development methods, including Agile, HTML/PHP, and visual basic.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree: Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a relevant technical discipline.
  • Cloud and Enterprise Experience: Experience testing software applications and cloud-based architectures.
  • Systems Integration Experience: Experience working with systems integration, Agile, and/or software development methodologies.
  • Infrastructure and Functional Systems: Experience with infrastructure and functional systems such as Clarity, Costpoint, Salesforce, Workday.
