At MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Nursing Educator Specialist to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team. As an integral member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of pediatric nursing.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading initiatives to enhance nursing excellence, providing hands-on mentorship, and contributing to the development of our dynamic and dedicated pediatric care staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Educational Program Development: Assess the learning needs of the PICU nursing team and implement targeted educational programs to promote evidence-based practices.
  • Mentorship and Coaching: Mentor staff to excel in their clinical practice, support certification efforts, and foster professional development.
  • Clinical Education: Develop and evaluate orientation sessions, continuing education opportunities, and specialty fellowship programs for pediatric care.
  • Quality Improvement: Promote and integrate evidence-based practices, quality improvement, and research into the PICU environment.
Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A graduate degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Current D.C. RN license and certification as a Nurse Educator (or ability to obtain within one year).
  • Clinical experience and Clinical education experience (pediatric or critical care preferred).
  • Strong communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills, with expertise in designing and delivering educational programs.
