Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Charge Nurse and Director of Nursing, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs direct resident care duties within the scope of their professional certification and assists in maintaining a positive, physical, and psychosocial environment for the residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist Residents with Daily Living Activities: Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and changing bed linens.
  • Support Resident Activity Programs: Assist with resident activity programs, promoting socialization and engagement.
  • Meal Preparation and Assistance: Prepare residents for meals and snacks, and assist with eating when needed, recording food intake.
  • Restorative and Rehabilitative Procedures: Read and follow daily care plans, perform assigned restorative and rehabilitative procedures, and report changes in condition to the Charge Nurse.
  • Accident and Incident Reporting: Document care provision on resident records/flow sheets as required and report accidents and incidents.
  • Safety and Sanitation: Follow safety and sanitation rules, and promptly report any injuries or violations to the supervisor.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Understand, comply with, and promote all regulations and policies regarding resident rights, and promote peer compliance of stated regulations and policies.
  • Admission, Transfer, and Discharge: Assist in the admission, transfer, and discharge of residents.
  • Relationship Building: Promote positive relationships with residents, visitors, and government regulators, presenting a professional appearance and attitude.
  • Transportation Aide: Must be fully trained and able to serve as a Transportation Aide.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification: Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in good standing with the State, with preferably one year of experience with the company.
  • Education: High School Diploma.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Must relate positively to residents, family members, employees, nursing, and facility management.
  • Attendance and Punctuality: Must comply with company Time and Attendance Policies.
  • Physical and Sensory Requirements: Must meet all local health regulations, and successfully complete a post-offer health assessment.
  • Accommodations: Must be capable of performing the essential functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
