Role Summary:
Next Move Healthcare is looking for a skilled and committed Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor to manage our Oncology Acute Care Unit. This role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring that patients receive high-quality and compassionate care. You will collaborate closely with the Nursing Manager to create and enforce policies, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with care standards. This position is perfect for a nurse leader who is dedicated to enhancing patient outcomes in oncology.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervise nursing staff and unit personnel to maintain a safe and caring environment for patients and families.
- Work with interdisciplinary team members to develop, implement, and assess patient care plans.
- Manage the daily operations of the unit, ensuring efficient and effective care delivery.
- Assist the Nursing Manager in the formulation and evaluation of departmental policies, procedures, and budgets.
- Provide direct nursing care as necessary and ensure staff maintain competency according to established standards.
- Encourage practice improvements among nursing staff through quality initiatives and evidence-based practices.
- Create a supportive and therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff.
- Mentor nursing staff to enhance their clinical and leadership skills, contributing to the department's succession planning.
- Engage in departmental and organizational programs, committees, and projects to achieve desired outcomes.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and standards set by certifying and accrediting bodies.
Key Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- At least 2 years of nursing experience, particularly in oncology.
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire or transfer.
