Sterile Processing Technician Associate Job Description

Estimated Salary: $50,000 - $60,000 per year

We are seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician Associate to join our team at Geisinger in Danville, Pennsylvania. As a key member of our Diagnostic Services department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care by preparing, sterilizing, and transporting medical instruments and equipment.

This is a Full-time Nights position that offers a Sign On Bonus of $3,000. We provide paid training to earn certification as a Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPDT) within 18 months of hire.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare, sterilize, and transport medical instruments and equipment to ensure they are clean, sterile, and ready for use during medical procedures.
  • Sort and decontaminate used and contaminated equipment, instruments, and supplies.
  • Monitor and operate sterilization equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Maintain accurate records of sterilization procedures, sterilized items, equipment maintenance, and supplies.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
  • Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician within 18 months (HSPA or CBSPD)
