Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Optical Network Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with Ciena 6500 platforms and a strong understanding of optical network principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build optical metro gear/hardware
  • Develop and communicate optical network standards
  • Perform optical network configuration, testing, monitoring, and operations
  • Maintain network documentation, including long-haul optical network maps and circuit drawings
  • Plan, schedule, and create change control records

Requirements:

  • Senior experience with Photonics and Broadband networks
  • Understanding of optical network troubleshooting at Layer 1 and Layer 2
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Ciena products, specifically Ciena 6500 and MCP
  • Deep knowledge of fiber characteristics, optical modules, optical protocols, and system configuration
