Job Summary

This is a highly technical and hands-on network position with the Office of Administration Infrastructure and Operations Bureau. As the Edge Networking Network Administrator 1, you will provide leadership to the commonwealth and contracted technical resources on the Edge Networking team, as well as provide direct hands-on support, evaluation, and design of the commonwealth's complex and continuously evolving information technology network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the timely delivery of all services
  • Act as subject matter expert on edge networks for all agency and business partner needs
  • Participate in the oversight of best practices for all change management initiatives, especially those related to planned deployments and upgrades across the Enterprise
  • Lead assigned projects and objectives
  • Lead efforts that ensure policy compliance across all aspects of Edge Network
  • Work closely with other edge networking teams to maintain and review edge networking catalogue of services through the ongoing service delivery improvement process
  • Maintain relationships with Enterprise business points of contacts, internal and external business partners, service providers, network carriers, and other Enterprise network teams
Requirements
  • One year as a Network Specialist 2, Telecommunications Specialist 2, Telecommunications Supervisor, or Radio Telecommunications Specialist 2
  • Five years of information technology experience that includes two years of technical experience in network operation or network maintenance
  • Three years of information technology experience that includes two years of technical experience in network operation or network maintenance, and an associate's degree in any information technology field
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes two years of technical experience in network operation or network maintenance
Additional Information

This position will have access to Federal Tax Information (FTI) and is subject to the provisions of IRS Publication 1075 (Pub 1075) which requires you to pass an enhanced background check prior to beginning employment.

The selected candidate for this position must undergo a fingerprint-based records check to be in compliance with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Criminal Justice Information Services Division (CJIS).

This position will be full-time employment with work hours from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. Occasional on-site work will be required as workload demands.
